Need For Speed Rivals Highly Compressed is a popular racing game. It is the 20th segment in the Need For Speed franchise. It is designed with a collaboration between Ghost Games and Criterion Games. Like every other game in this series, the game was distributed by Electronic Arts aka EA. The game was initially released for PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. It was also the last game in the series developed for the platforms like PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Like every other title in the Need For Speed franchise, the gameplay revolves around racing. The game plot is set in a fictional place called Redview County. The players have the choice to take the role of a cop or a racer. It gives the player the opportunity to take different sides of the law. This enables the players to create their own style of play. The game has the potential to manipulate the thinking and make everyone enjoy the various aspects of it. The gameplay setup is similar to Most Wanted, an earlier installment in the series. It has the free-roam capability and can also engage in racings. It has both single-player and multiplayer modes. It introduced a system called 'All Drive' which makes the transition between the modes easier. Through that, a player can easily jump into multiplayer with 2 options. Either play together or compete against each other. It also has a career mode. the career progresses for racer by defeating other players in Speed List and for a cop by completing assignments. By completing each mission the player unlocks new content like map locations, cars, objectives, etc. Through this, the player levels up.
The Need For Speed Rivals received hugely positive reviews from the critics. The visualizations and gameplay is top. The graphics and soundtrack were considered the finest. The detailing of car and map locations made it incredible. It won the Best racing Game award in the 'Game Critics Award'. If you are a fan of racing games, then this is the one for you.
